I very well remember the day when i gave the worst possible expression to my mom because she wanted me to join some classical music class along with my elder sis. I was 4 years old then. Mummy really wanted my sis to join. But, she found nothing bad in sending a 4 year old kid along with a 7 year old girl. She felt this would add up more humming and music in our home. Seeing my swollen angry face, mummy made me wear my favourite blue frock with a white tape to tie on. This brought a little bit of smile. Yet, the thought of missing one day of play with my friends in the campus sand pit still filled my eyes with tears. Even with kisses from papa and mummy, i made my anger and frustration all very visible on my face. In no time we were ready to go to the music teacher's home. I walked right behind them. I passed the sand pit where my friends ran catching each other, playing on the see-saw, cycling and a lot more. I controlled my tears and tried showing my friends that i was going to a place happier than their sand pit. But, i very well knew i hated it. With all these thoughts, I reached my teacher's place in no time. She was a thin lady with all smiles. Miss Laxmi Parashuraman her name was. I saw her and forcefully gave a smile and wished her "hello aunty" like my teacher had trained us in school. She kissed me to make me feel better and said " You can watch the others sing. Join them when you feel like. Till then you can play with these kittens". I saw those kittens and in no time i loved eveybody over there. I loved my teacher, sis, mummy more than the whole world. I carried the kittens and played with them in the garden to my heart's content! When i was tired, i sat next to my sis and learnt Sa Re Ga Ma that day. To this day, my life was been totally musical and am in love with every rhythm of it. :)

Hey Bhargavi,
ReplyDeleteI was browsing and accidentally found this blog. I really liked it as I am also a music lover. The way you express your feelings is great and that frock incident was hilarious.
Looking forward for your next post.
